Day 366: Lovely New Haven

Day 365: Starting our journey

We woke up early to catch our train to New Haven today.

Day 364: Someone having a bad day

This woman was being extremely rude to the cashier at Whole Foods this afternoon.  I couldn't help but take a photo of her.  The woman waiting behind her and the cashier had a nice laugh about it after she stormed off in a huff.

Fail...

Oh, well!

Day 363: Broken

They have put pieces of the Cathedral that broke off in the earthquake out on the grounds.  A and I checked them out on the way home from school.

Day 362: Car

I think there was a reason behind why I took the photo of our car, but I really can't remember what it was now.

As I walked back from dropping A off at school, I sat for a minute at a bench near the Cathedral.

Day 359: Seen in NYC

My colleague and I saw this dude on the streets of Midtown.

Day 358: Butterfly

We saw a big butterfly on the way home from school today.

Day 357: First day of school

School is a bit of a stretch...more like a cross between day care and preschool...but anyway, it's the first day!

Day 356: Labor Day brunch

Our friends invited us over for brunch, and we were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful feast they cooked up for us.

Day 355: Truck driving

We met some friends at the Postal Museum, where they had the cab of a truck available for little ones to play in.  A would have stayed there all day if he could have.

Day 354: Canoeing on the Potomac

We started the holiday weekend off with a canoe ride on the Potomac.  It was the first time A was in such a small boat on the water.

Day 353: Exhausted

I babysat for a friend tonight, and I was so exhausted after my week that I was grateful that I could just relax the whole evening.

Day 352: Walk through the park

This little park was right outside of our hotel, and I was able to take a morning walk before my meetings started.

Day 351: Boston view

Day 350: Times Square

My three day trip started with New York. Times Square is still there!

Day 349: Indian buffet

I am going out of town for a few days, so S and I decided to meet up for lunch near his office.  We had decent Indian buffet.

Day 348: Rowing shell on a trailer

You really don't see rowing shells being moved by a single bike, but there's a first time for everything.

Day 347: Annapolis

We decided to take a spur-of-the-moment trip to Annapolis.  The first thing we did (well, second after eating breakfast) was to take a boat cruise on the Cheseapeake.  It was fun.

Day 346: Virginia

The original photo does not look like this, trust me! Something happened in the downloading.  It's meant to show the sign you see when you cross the Potomac River, leaving DC and entering VA.

Day 345: Worth the wait

I really, really wanted these strawberry wrapped candies.  I ordered them online and they arrived today. Yay!

Day 344: Another view from the office

I was recording A talking to himself and then singing himself to sleep.

Day 343: Reaching

Baby is always reaching for the camera so he can see the photo I have just taken of him.

Day 342: Dog and bag

Doggie decided to hang out with me while I was working in my office today.

Day 341: Rain

I had an appointment at the W, and when I came out, it was really pouring.

Day 340: Working on the house

We came home from swim lessons to find the landlord and handy man working on the roof.

Day 339: Waiting

Playing with flags while waiting for Dad to come home from work on a Friday afternoon.

Day 338: Bye bye, Chicago

After a very busy and fun trip, little A and I finally got on the plane back to DC.  Despite a very long delay that made both baby and mom cranky, we eventually made it home safely.

Day 337: Stop sign

This is a new stop sign that was just put up at an intersection that is very close to my parents' house.  It's a huge deal for the little town!

Day 336: Cousins

Day 335: Choo choo

We took the kids to a local train-themed restaurant that brings your food on a little train.  A was really excited when the train finally brought his grilled cheese.

Day 334: Breakfast with cousins

We made it to Chicago and celebrated by having breakfast out with the sister, cousins, and grandparents.  Fun!

Day 333: First haircut

A had his very first haircut in a barber shop today! He did great.

Day 332: Where runs the river?

This is a poster we have up in our kitchen.  Baby has memorized this poem already!

Day 331: Jai shree Krishna

Today was Janmashtami (Krishna's birthday), so we went to a celebration at the Hare Krishna temple.

Day 330: Little reader

The little guy is reading up a storm.  Okay, he's not yet really reading, but he is getting close.

Day 329: Little fireman

We went over to our local police station for a National Night Out event, which meant there was security and safety information, car seat checks, and entertainment for the kids.  A didn't like the clowns much but he was excited about getting to sit in the front seat of a fire truck.  I forgot my phone so didn't get any photos but here's the fireman once we got home.

Day 328: Scary

This is something you really don't want to see on your way home.

Day 327: Play date

We had a nice play date today with a mom and baby from my moms' group.  I neglected to take a photo of them while they were here, so I snapped this while they were going home!

Day 326: Car ride

We took a car ride out to College Park, MD to go to Ikea.  We went to a nice little South Indian restaurant first for dinner, and then we decided it was too late for Ikea.  But the food was definitely worth the drive.

Day 325: Seinfeld

S and I had a rare night out and went to the Kennedy Center to see Seinfeld.  It was a nice night, and as an added bonus, baby A was good for his sitter.

Day 324: Dinner out

We took a walk down to Connecticut Avenue for a quick dinner out.

Day 323: Breakfast in Chi-town

I went on a jaunt in the morning to one of my old haunts...breakfast at Wishbone is one of my favorite things to do in Chicago.

Day 322: A night at Wrigley

Back to my favorite city and the best baseball stadium in the world, Wrigley Field!

Day 321: Pleasant surprise

This bloomed up right outside our front door!

Day 320: Amherst event

Another year, another welcome to Amherst student event at the congressman's house.

Day 319: Train ride

We drove out to Cabin John to take a ride on a miniature train.  Baby A loved it.

It was so hot today (nearly 100 degrees F) that we went for milkshakes - before dinner even!
