Day 331: Jai shree Krishna

Today was Janmashtami (Krishna's birthday), so we went to a celebration at the Hare Krishna temple.

Day 296: Happy Fourth

We had a nice holiday today...went to a neighborhood parade, put up some flags, and I made a flag cake!

Day 244: Mother's Day

The two guys took me out for Mother's Day breakfast. I'm so lucky to have them.

Day 209: Easter with family

We had a full table at Easter lunch.

Day 208: Blessing of the baskets

We made it to Chicago just in time to go to the annual blessing of the Easter baskets at my home parish. There were loads of baskets!

Day 194: Gudhi Padwa

We took my in-laws to the mandal's Gudhi Padwa event way out in the Virginia suburbs. We all had a good time, although baby spilled water all over his nice outfit, so he had to put on his pajamas.

Day 181: Happy Holi

We took a drive out to the local ISKCON temple to celebrate Holi.  We were not really prepared for what greeted us. Hundreds of people were surely getting into the Holi spirit by throwing colors everywhere!  Baby A had his first taste of Holi as well.

Day 163: Pancake day

The day before Lent begins means pancakes for dinner!

Day 162: Mahashivratri

We went to the temple today to celebrate Mahashivratri.

Day 156: Happy Valentine's Day

My valentines went overboard giving me a happy Valentine's day.

Day 128: Sankrant

Today we celebrated Sankrant at the Maharashtra Mandal.

Day 117: Christmas puzzle

The Christmas puzzle is finally completed!

Day 115: The Building Zone

We took A to the National Building Museum today because I'd read that they have a nice exhibit for little ones.  It's true: A loved the hour we spent in the Building Zone.  He played and played with all of the toys and really loved this little house...it even had a whole furniture set just his size.

Day 114: New Year's Eve dinner

I had to fight my son for my New Year's Eve dinner of pizza!

Day 110: Pierogi

The parents went home today, but we have this delicious reminder of my mom's cooking: homemade pierogi.

Day 107: Mince pies

It was a day of baking for my mom and me today.  We made loads of cookies and I tried my hand at mince pies.  They turned out pretty well for a first attempt.

Day 105: The tree

The parents have arrived and there are loads of presents under the tree!

Day 94: Spotted at Target

I really wanted to get one of these for my sister for Christmas, but she said she didn't think so.

Day 93: Found at the store

Needless to say, we picked this up right away.
