Day 231: Cupcake

I've been on a cupcake tear lately.  S went out and got me one last night, but I didn't eat it because I fell asleep! It was just as good the next day.

Day 230: Baby ladybug

We were out on the play set this afternoon, and Baby A spotted a bug.  I thought it was a beetle, but S told us that it was actually a ladybug larvae!

Day 229: Carousel

We went to Glen Echo today, and baby had his first carousel ride.  He was totally entranced by it all, and I think he liked it after he got over the loud music and the movement.

Day 228: Bamboo-eating squirrel

We looked out of our kitchen and noticed a black squirrel eating bamboo on the railing of our deck.  We have all sorts of bamboo shoots coming up in our yard.  I had no idea that squirrels eat bamboo, but apparently they do!

Day 227: Giant no more

Our local shop (a Giant) closed a couple of weeks ago.  It used to have a cool retro sign on it which is now gone.  Sad!

Day 226: Ouch

I was walking through a parking lot and tripped today...not fun.  I survived, though!

Day 224: Bouncing

Baby is getting really good at dribbling the ball.  He gets in a lot of practice every day.

Day 223: Space shuttle

We took a long drive to the Udvar-Hazy Center to see Discovery up close.

Day 222: Rain clouds

We watched the rain clouds come in as we drove to dinner.

Day 221: Azaleas

We thought we'd be gone when our azaleas bloomed, but they waited until we came back from our trip.

Day 219: China

I can't begin to say how pleased I am that I have finally got my china and crystal here in DC and set up in our hutch.  It's not like I'm going to use it all the time, or even more than a few times a year.  But it just looks so nice!

Day 218: Discovery

Today, the space shuttle Discovery made its final flight, and it took a few loops around the metro area for us to be able to see it in the air.  I made it to the Cathedral grounds just in time to see it in action.

Day 217: Sick

I was sick today!

Day 216: The W

I had always heard that the rooftop bar at the W Hotel downtown was cool, but I'd never been. Until today.

Day 215: Friends

We were able to have a quick visit with some old friends before we left New York, and A got to meet a new friend, Dean.

Day 214: Checking out the traffic

Baby had a good view of Lexington Avenue from our hotel room that allowed him to check out the traffic.

We made it to the city!

Day 212: Breakfast with Papa

Baby had breakfast with Papa before we started our journey to New York.  Baby is sitting in the high chair I used to use as a baby!

Day 211: Charlie Trotter's

S and I had a date night at Charlie Trotter's. 

Day 210: Cousins trip to the aquarium

We took the cousins to the Shedd Aquarium for a look at the fish.

Day 209: Easter with family

We had a full table at Easter lunch.

Day 208: Blessing of the baskets

We made it to Chicago just in time to go to the annual blessing of the Easter baskets at my home parish. There were loads of baskets!

Day 207: Still blooming

Flowers are still blooming in our neighborhood.
